Baby Shower for Bentley Kate

My friends and I finally got to host a baby shower this weekend for our very pregnant friend Brooke. I have known Brooke since the 8th grade and I was just thrilled when I found out she was having a little girl. I feel so blessed to have her in my life and can't wait to see her embark on the journey of motherhood.

My wonderful friends gave me the honor of being in-charge of the invitations and shower decor. They know how much I love coming up with party decor. Seriously, I go a little crazy sometimes. Of course I thought of using the color pink, but how boring is that. Since Brooke has always been a very bubbly and outgoing gal, I decided against using pink and went with red, black and white polka dots; and boy I am so glad I did! All and all, I think the decor turned out really cute and different. The pictures are below and I hope you enjoy! By the way, my friend Kelli took the pictures and I think she is talented!

Thank you for your understanding!!

These cute cheesecake bars were made by my friend Amber. They were really tasty and I loved the way she included the letter "B" for Bentley.

I actually saw the words of encouragement cards on the baby gardner website and decided to make my own version. I think they turned out pretty cute!

Thanks Brittany! I noticed you recently hosted a baby shower in which the theme was adding to her nest. Cute! I hosted a baby shower with that theme back in March.

Hey Shonda,

I am so glad you liked the paper baby shoes. These shoes were extremely time consuming but really fun to make. Each shoe probably took a total of 10 to 15 minutes to make and I made about 30 of them. The website that I found the template from is http://www.bydonovan.com/

My grandmother passed away about three months ago, shortly after I became engaged to be married. I have been so upset about the fact she will not be at the wedding. For about two months now I have been trying to think of a way to incorporate my grandmother’s memory into my wedding invitations. I came across Kathryn and her blog Simply Southern Events about a month ago. After seeing the polka dot diaper invitations she had made for a friend’s baby shower, I just knew in my heart she was the one to design my wedding invitations.

I contacted her and asked her if she could come up with a way to incorporate my grandmother’s memory into my wedding invitations, and she said absolutely. My grandmother left me several of her vintage lace tablecloths when she passed away and Kathryn asked me if I would be willing to part with just one of them. Of course I answered yes.

I decided to allow Kathryn to use the lace tablecloth which my grandmother used on the day of my Holy Communion. I have a picture of us standing behind the table together with my little white dress and veil, and the lace table cloth is on the table in the picture. Furthermore, my grandmother’s favorite scent was lavender and this will be incorporated into my wedding invitations as well.

I just wanted to share this with all of you who may have not come across Kathryn’s blog yet. She has several more invitations and event planning galleries that are not even featured on her blog but I here they will be soon. If you want to make your event sentimental and wonderful she is definitely the person to go to.

Sincerely,

Amy Roberts.

Very nice party idea!! I am using the same color scheme for my daughter's baby shower in Feb. Where did you find the black and white polka dot cardstock paper? I love the paper baby shoes. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.

I'm so glad you liked the decor. I found the black and white cardstock at Hobby Lobby.
